Job Description and responsibilities:

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

As the traditional broadcast business continues to evolve the Softel Products team is required to deliver a range of solutions for broadcast television, interactive services, and other media consumption platforms. As a member of the Softel Products Team the position requires a candidate who demonstrates a deep passion for learning new technologies as well as product development.

Reporting directly to the Head of Products the candidate will be required to work on multiple products, providing both software development and architectural design skills. Mentoring staff will be required as will ability to liaise directly with end customers to build clear understanding of their unique requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of new technologies and software in a fast changing environment
  • Collaborating with a Softel Product Manager on suitable systems design and architecture blueprints
  • Investigation, when necessary, into new frameworks & 3rd party technologies
  • To provide mentoring and leadership to a small development team
  • To assist the product test and support teams
  • To take ownership of Softel technology and to provide assistance on site, in the UK or abroad, when necessary (travel is not obligatory to those who prefer office-based working)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Softel is a dynamic technology supplier providing a range of advanced technology to the broadcast/media sector, including interactive TV solutions, broadcast graphics systems and ancillary data systems.

The position is based in Pangbourne, near Reading, and will directly report to the Head of Products.
