The ideal candidate:
= What we’re looking for =
We are looking for a Development Lead that enjoys being hands-on and is not afraid of learning new things. We are currently undergoing “The Big Rewrite” from Delphi to C#, so the ideal candidate should feel comfortable working with both. Ideally you should be a C#/.NET guru and have knowledge of Delphi, or not be afraid of learning it on the job; as well as being able to work with a small team of developers.
As a Development Lead you should have strong knowledge of solid software development practices with Microsoft Technology: continuous integration, build and release procedures, unit testing, test driven development, etc.
You should also be able to find the “sweet spot” between being structured (written specs, software schedule) and agile (frequent releases, close contact with users).
= Requirements =
- Authorized to work in the European Union;
- At least 8 years of development experience, at least 4 years leading teams;
- Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science degree or related degree; or equivalent experience;
- Proven track record implementing high-availability, and highly-secure systems;
- Previous experience in the securities market is a plus;
- Previous experience with Delphi 5 and/or Delphi 2010 is a plus;
- Previous experience with a “Big rewrite” is a plus.
Job Description and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Act as the link between the development team and Project management;
- Translate competing product requirements into project plans, and deliverables;
- Work on “The Big Rewrite” and the support efforts for the old Delphi 5 applications;
- Develop and mentor team members;
- Add software development best practices (see above) to the current development process.
