The ideal candidate:
An ideal candidate must be able to work with existing JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery, as well as extend and debug them. In addition, an (X)HTML/JavaScript Specialist must be able to develop homebrew solutions for compelling and advanced user interactivity. While JavaScript Development is the focus of this position, (X)HTML/CSS skills are required and will be utilized frequently.
Required
- Has a strong understanding of the Document Object Model & CSS cascade
- Experience with writing JavaScript for AJAX
- Experience with but not dependency on 3rd-party libraries (such as jQuery and Prototype)
- Experience with OO JavaScript Development
- Experience writing valid, semantic HTML/CSS
- Ability to write modular JavaScript (such as jQuery Plugins and Prototype Classes)
- Has a portfolio of at least 5 representative examples
- Has at least 5 years of relevant work experience
Desired
- Understands concepts of progressive enhancement
- Understands REST
- Ability to utilize 3rd-party APIs
- Experience writing code for iPhone Mobile Safari
