The ideal candidate:

Responsibilities and Skills

  • Help determine the best user experience across all aspects of Disqus, including the aesthetic look and feel as well as the usability.
  • Take features from specs to mockups to implemented client-side code.
  • Head usability experiments, such as using multivariate (A/B) testing to design and improve product flow.
  • You will work with both the website application and the embedded comment system (widget-like applications).
  • Design and implement features which will be used by millions of people on release.
  • Work heavily with cross-domain issues and take advantage of the newest web technologies (e.g. HTML5), or bend existing web technologies to accomplish new things.
  • Develop methods to improve performance across all combinations of browsers and platforms.
  • Responsible for writing clean, semantic HTML and CSS.
  • JavaScript experience is a big plus.

About You

  • Fluent with all the appropriate tools needed, such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Skilled with visual and graphic design.
  • Expert with HTML, CSS.
  • Very experienced with common and obscure cross-browser and cross-domain issues, hacks, and solutions.
  • Very skilled with UI and UX design.
  • Understand user behavior and application flow. You make applications that are fun to use and leave people happy.
